Ray Kurz, aka, Cuvée Ray is a sommelier, wine consultant and wine educator who started his wine journey over 35 years ago.
Ray’s formal wine studies include achieving his sommelier certificate, being awarded his Certified Specialist of Wine certification by the Society of Wine Educators and his Level 3 wine education certificate from the prestigious London based Wine and Spirits Educational Trust.
Ray is now working on is Diploma Level 4 certification which is the recognized final step before being able to enter the Master of Wine program (there are only about 400 Masters of Wine in the world). In addition to his formal wine training, Ray was the owner of The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner, Cuvée Ray Wine Bar and Restaurant.
Ray is an avid wine collector and wine writer and has traveled extensively to wine regions around the world, including wine regions in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, New Zealand, Australia and numerous wine regions of the USA.
Ray is now focused on sharing his knowledge and love of wine through consulting with restaurants, wineries and other wine related businesses as well as conducting relaxed, fun and informative wine tastings, dinners and events at restaurants, and for private groups at homes, club houses and other venues.
Ray’s overall goal is “Connecting Wine With Wine Lovers.”
