Cuvée Ray

ABOUT

Ray Kurz, aka, Cuvée Ray is a Sommelier, Certified WSET Wine Educator, and Wine Consultant who started his wine journey over 35 years ago. Ray’s formal wine studies include achieving his Sommelier Certificate, being awarded his CertifiedSpecialist of Wine certification by the Society of Wine Educators, his Level 3 wine education certificate from the prestigious London-based Wine and Spirits Educational Trust (WSET) and his WSET Certification as a Wine Educator.

 

Ray is now finishing his Diploma Level 4 certification studies which is the recognized final step before being able to enter the Master of Wine program (there are only about 400 Masters of Wine in the world). In addition to his formal wine training, Ray was the owner of The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner, Cuvée Ray Wine Bar and Restaurant and owned a “virtual winery” under his “Social Cluster” label.

 

Ray is an avid wine collector and wine writer and has traveled extensively to wine regions around the world, including wine regions in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, and numerous wine regions of the USA.

 

Ray is now focused on sharing his knowledge and love of wine through consulting with restaurants, wineries and other wine related businesses as well as conducting formal WSET and hospitality industry focused classes, as well as relaxed, fun, and informative wine tastings, dinners, and events at restaurants, and for private groups at homes, club houses and other venues.

Ray’s overall goal is “Connecting Wine With Wine Lovers.”
